1. The Heart Attack Grill!
Coming in at the top of the list is this rather obnoxious joint known as the Heart Attack Grill. Although originally founded in Tempe, Arizona, the owner, Joe Busso, decided to take the joint, complete with its theatrics, to the city of Las Vegas. Since then, it’s become a huge attraction. Oddly enough, the entire idea behind this restaurant is centered around over-indulgence. Guests can (but may not want to!) choose from a single, up to an octuple hamburger, which comes up to a whopping 9,900 calories. Apart from the burgers themselves, the Heart Attack Grill also offers sides that are not for the faint of heart - Flatliner fries, which are deep-fried in pure lard, alcoholic beverages, butterfat milkshakes and sodas made with cane sugar are all common choices. It gets weirder though - When customers enter and seat themselves at their tables, they’re given hospital bibs. Drinks stick to the medical theme and are served in syringes. They also offer free meals to people who weigh over 350lbs. Perhaps it isn’t that surprising that at least two instances of heart attacks have actually been recorded at the Heart Attack Grill!

2. Capo’s Italian Cuisine
If you’re familiar with your history of the prohibition period, you’ll know what a speakeasy is. If you aren’t, it’s very simple - They are joints that were set up as illicit centers for smuggling alcohol. Today, however, times have changed - Speakeasies are now open and legal, but choose to maintain their traditional rules and approach. Capo’s Italian Cuisine, which can be found in the West Tropicana part of Vegas, is one such establishment. Capo’s is particularly famous in Sin City, and is known to stay as true to its roots as possible - They don’t have a front door, for example! To get a true look into the culture that was prevalent during the times of prohibition, one must venture into a speakeasy - they feature classic food, shows, entertainment, and in some cases, gambling, while also doubling up as a bar! They truly capture a 1920s vibe, and Capo’s Italian Cuisine is an excellent example of one such speakeasy in the Las Vegas area.
3. Top of the World Restaurant
While most restaurants and eateries typically build a name for themselves because of their food, the Top of the World restaurant, located at the top of the Stratosphere tower in Las Vegas, is more of a spectacle than it is a restaurant. Picture this - It’s located at the top of a 350-meter tower, and provides stunning views of the entire Vegas strip. That’s not all, however. The restaurant is engineered in such a way that it revolves 360 degrees every 80 minutes. This means your view of Vegas is constantly changing as you dine, making for a truly unique and unforgettable experience. While the food is very good, the views, the experience, and the ambiance are what puts the Top of the World restaurant on this list.

4. Blackout!
This restaurant’s name is officially Blackout: Dining in the Dark, and with good reason! The restaurant features pitch-black interiors, and guests are left (almost!) blind inside. The catch? They provide you with night vision goggles and special neon lights so that you can see exactly what they want you to see. Staff, as well as objects in the restaurant such as tables, glasses, and more all feature some sort of lighting so as to make them identifiable. The logic behind this kind of dining experience is sort of counter-intuitive to 21st-century life - As we interact with so many screens today, we rarely take the time to indulge our other senses during meals. At Blackout, you can’t help but do so as you quite literally won’t be able to see!

5. The Mermaid Lounge
The final entrant on our list is the result of a very interesting idea - that of merging an aquarium and a restaurant. This restaurant features an absolutely enormous 117,000-gallon fish tank, with over 3,000 species of aquatic life on display. Guests are literally surrounded by water, making for a unique and memorable dining experience. Known for their seafood, it seems quite apt that they try to engross guests into the ecosystem from which their produce comes from! Here’s a fun fact - The tanks actually contain divers, who are dressed as mermaids, who feed the various forms of aquatic life living in the tanks! And yes, that’s why it’s called the mermaid lounge!
So, there you have it - This is our complete list of the five absolutely weirdest restaurants in Las Vegas!
