1. Tools of Trade
There are four items required for a craps game. The table with the game's layout, dice to determine outcomes, the puck that displays on and off sides depending on whether the shooters' point has been established, and the stick used to pick the dice after every roll.
2. Understand the Basic Bets
A fundamental part of learning is getting the basics right. In craps, the Pass Line and the Don't Pass line are the basic bets, and they are easy to understand. Most shooters will place a bet on the pass line and then roll the dice. If it lands on a 7 or 11, it is considered a win for the pass line bettors. If it lands on a 2 or 3, the pass line bettors lose, and if it lands on a 12, it is neither a win nor a loss. With such basic knowledge, you can walk comfortably to the big oval table and understand a thing or two as the game progresses.
