The Las Vegas Raiders lose to the Cincinnati Bengals, Jack Eichel takes the ice and Kyle Busch calls out thieves. All on last week in Las Vegas sports

#5 Darren Waller talks about sobriety struggles during injury

Darren Waller went down with a bad knee injury during the Las VegasRaiders' Thanksgiving Day game against the Dallas Cowboys and was out for five weeks as a result. The star tight end was then hit with COVID-19 protocol and forced to stay off the field another week. Despite these setbacks, he returned for the regular-season finale against the Los Angeles Chargers and recorded two receptions for 22 yards.

Injuries are always tough to deal with for any NFL player, but Waller had an added problem to deal with due to his previous substance abuse issues. Between being off the field for weeks and having a lot of time on his hands, he found himself battling his demons once again as he was forced to watch from the sidelines.

"Because of my disease of addiction, that can have me thinking all kinds of crazy things," Waller said Wednesday. "So, I've got to make sure that I'm talking about those things when I have all that idle time... Just staying solid, keeping my head out of that idle time, and just into things that I enjoy. And stay into the game of football as much as I can."

#4 Kyle Busch goes on Twitter rant after thieves steal five-year-old's racecar

People call Kyle Busch a lot of things, but hero usually doesn't make the list. The Las Vegas native is mostly known for being a hothead.

Now, however, it's the candyman who's trying to help bring justice after thieves stole a five-year-old's racecar weeks before he was set to compete in a midget race. The young man, later identified as Easton Wright, reportedly cried after officials told him that someone had stolen his racecar. This was enough for Kyle Busch to take to Twitter to call out the thieves for their actions and tell everyone to keep an eye out for the racecar.

"Who steals from a kid"  Kyle Busch fumed on Twitter after retweeting a picture of the story. "Please keep your eyes peeled and help Easton find his race car that was stolen in CA over the weekend."

#3 Alex Pietraneglo and Peter Deboer named to All-Star team

The Las Vegas Golden Knights have mounted quite the comeback this season and have some of the best players in the entire league right now! Not only is that evident by their 23-14 record that places them at the top of their division, but also because several players have been picked for the Pacific Division all-star team.

The players are Head Coach Pete Deboer, Mark Stone, Alex Pietrangelo, and  Jonathan Marchessault, who won the last man in vote. Stone made the big game even though he missed 17 games due to injury because he gained 22 points in 23 games since his return. Deboer, on the other hand, is arguably the architect behind the Golden Knights come back this season and should give the Pacific team an advantage come game day.

#2 Jack Eichel finally takes the ice in practice for the Las Vegas Golden Knights

It’s no secret that the Las Vegas Golden Knights are counting down the days until Jack Eichel can officially make his first start, but he is making a lot of progress in the meantime. This past week, Eichel took the ice for the first time in a no-contact jersey after receiving neck transfusion surgery last year. While there is still no expected return date for the newly acquired star, he is said to have the whole team behind him.

#1 Las Vegas Raiders lose to the Cincinnati Bengals after costly interception

TheLas Vegas Raiders took on the Cincinnati Bengals Saturday afternoon in an attempt to their playoff hopes alive, but it didn't happen that way. Unfortunately for the 9-7 team that endured controversy after controversy, they were outdone by a very game Joe Burrow and the Bengals. The final blow was an interception in the game's closing seconds that allowed the Bengals to take a knee and win the game.

Derek Carr went 29 of 54 for 310 yards, one touchdown, and the interception that ultimately cost them the game. Joshua Jacobs contributed with 13 carries for 83 yards and an average of 6.4 yards a carry. Daniel Carlson, however,  who went 4/4 for 13 points and the longest field goal of 47 yards, was the biggest contributor. The man was the glue that helped keep the Raiders in the game all afternoon long, but it just wasn't enough.
