Is Derek Carr Headed to the Seattle Seahawks? 5 Las Vegas Raiders Rumors You Need To Hear

Do you see the Las Vegas Raiders trading Derek Carr or any of these other wild ideas?

#5 Possible reason why Mike Mayock was fired as GM

The Las Vegas Raiders informed Mike Mayock that his services were no longer required in late January, and the team is now in search of their next General Manager. What was it that made the Raiders organization decide to make the cut?

Unfortunately for the former GM,  it appears that the only reason the Raiders brought him in was to work with Jon Gruden. If this is true, he was done the minute Gruden announced his resignation from the team. Getting eliminated in the opening round of the playoffs probably didn’t help either.

#4 Marcus Mariota might go to the Denver Broncos.

While there are a lot of questions to answer before this offseason is over, what the Las Vegas Raiders decide to do with Marcus Mariota remains one of the most interesting ones. One AFC rival already seems interested in his services.

"We're not necessarily suggesting the Broncos target Mariota to be their starter in 2022," Pro football focus said in an article regarding Mariota, "but a backup quarterback who brings a different skill set and can be deployed in certain packages has proven to be a growing trend in the NFL the past few years. Over the past two seasons with the Raiders, Mariota has 175 rushing yards on just 18 carries (9.7 yards per carry), 14 of which went for first downs."

The Raiders' future might not include Marcus Mariota, and that's ok.

#3 Controversial trade rumor has Derek Carr going to the Seahawks

What's crazier about the rumor? The idea of former Super Bowl MVP Russell Wilson in a Raiders jersey?, Or seeing Derek Carr traded to the Seattle Seahawks after one of his best seasons to date? Either way, this is a trade rumor that made the rounds earlier this year and it appears that there might still be interest in making it happen.

"My instincts tell me Mark Davis wants rockstar stuff in that stadium," Mike Silver said on The Colin Cowherd Podcast when asked about Mark Davis's plans for the team. "Mark Davis has a kind of Russell Wilson, not fixation, but he was kind of into that concept from what I was hearing. Mark Davis, I think, has felt 'we can do better than Derek Carr.'"

In the end, it remains an interesting possibility, but there doesn't seem to be a good reason to give up on Carr right now. He was a passing leader all season long, helped lead the Raiders to three overtime victories this season, and is one of the promising talents on the team. Getting rid of him doesn't make sense, even for someone like Russel Wilson.

#2 Las Vegas Raiders players want Rich Bissacia as head coach

Rich Bisaccia played a very important role as the interim head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders and even led them to their first playoff appearance in six years. Overall, Bissacia went 7-5 during his time as a head coach but lost his playoff debut to the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite that misstep, he is still being called the team's hero. Ditching him could have seismic consequences.

"I think we can all think that he's the right guy," Carr said of Bisaccia. "He's proven that people listen to him. Our team listens to him. And I love him so much, I'm thankful for him. All those things will be decisions that I don't make, I don't get to make. I just play quarterback ... but with everything that went on, if you really look at what happened, all the pieces missing, everything that changed, yeah, he held it together."

#1 Las Vegas Raiders not in a hurry to pick a permanent head coach.

The biggest question when it comes to the Las Vegas Raiders is probably who will be their permanent head coach in 2022? While Rich Bissacia did everything he could to secure the honor, even leading the team into the playoffs, other candidates like Jim Harbough, Demeco Ryans, Jerod Mayo all are still in the mix. There are a lot of options for the Raiders to go with and some of them are very enticing.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com: "The Raiders honestly seem to be taking their time and examining their options so far this offseason, which is a pretty good sign that the on-field product will improve next season. It’s just a matter of who leads them through the tunnel on that first Sunday.
