The Las Vegas Community Healing Garden is a nature spot that has a deep emotional connection with the residents of Las Vegas. It was built after the Route 91 Harvest music festival tragedy on October 1, 2017. The tragedy happened when 64-year-old Stephen Paddock opened fire on the crowd attending the festival. Fifty-eight people were killed, and 867 people were injured, with 413 people having shrapnel injuries and gunshot wounds. The garden is located in downtown las Vegas and was built by the local community and businesses. The three days of construction resulted in a tranquil outdoor spot that supports serenity, healing and fellowship. Las Vegas Community Healing Garden has a Remembrance Wall to remember the people who lost their lives during the Route 91 Harvest music festival tragedy. It also has a beautiful oak tree - “the tree of life” donated by Siegfried and Roy. The “tree of life” is surrounded by 58 trees, shrubs and flowers. The 58 trees were planted to remember the 58 people who lost their lives during the attack.
