Mt. Charleston & the Spring Mountains

You can see the snow-covered mountains from the valley, but it s a quite different experience to be right in the middle of them. There are plenty of ways to enjoy the snow at Mt. Charleston. As you make your way up the mountain, there are lookouts along the roads where you can just stop and enjoy the sight of snow. You ll be surrounded by a forest of pine trees, which will make you feel like there s no way you re in Vegas! There are several hills for sledding, wide-open areas for building snowmen and making snow angels, plus there s Lee Canyon for more serious snowboarders and skiers. If that s not quite your speed, opt for snowshoeing through the snowy hills. If you want to turn your adventure into a weekend-long stay, there s lodging at The Retreat on Charleston Peak and further up the road at The Mt. Charleston Lodge.
Taken by Lauren Hyde It s a different side of Vegas, proving that there is beauty beyond the glittering lights. You just have to go a little further to find it.
