Derek Carr has been at the center of the Las Vegas Raiders' quarterback controversy for two years now and it doesn’t seem to be getting better. 

In 2020 and 2021 a lot of the problem was the defense, who had some of the worst numbers in the league. They gave up a lot of yards in the air but had an even bigger problem against the running game. This means Carr hasn’t had a defense capable of keeping the opposing team out of the endzone and isn’t getting the rest he needs in between drives. Add in a struggling running game that is plagued with injuries and you can see why Carr had such a hard time.
