About half an hour drive from the strip, in Boulder City, is the most historically significant trail, the Lake Mead Railroad Trail. This trail is 3.5 miles long and attracts all kinds of hikers. You will go through five massive railroad tunnels and see old dam equipment alongside the unbelievably scenic and picturesque Lake Mead and its neighboring mountain landscape.
