The Money in the Bank ladder match, invented by now AEW Superstar Chris Jericho, officially became a  WWE pay-per-view in 2010. WWE even added a female version of the match in 2017, equalizing the men and women on the roster. Carmella was the women’s first Money in the Bank winner and she cashed in on Asuka a short time later.

Going back to the first Money in the Bank pay-per-view, it featured a stacked card of matchups that were the top feuds of the time. This included a steel cage match between WWE Champion Sheamus and John Cena.
