Liz Cambage shocked the sports world when she dropped out of the 2021 Toyko Olympics after admitting that she wasn't in a good place mental health-wise but has finally returned to practice after the Olympic break. The news comes only a month after Cambage got into a scuffle with an opposing player during an Olympic scrimmage, which might have played a role in her decision to sit out the games. Despite her mental health issues, she hopes to finish strong with the Las Vegas Aces this season and finally lead them to that elusive championship.

"Anyone that knows me knows one of my biggest dreams is winning an Olympic gold medal with the Opals. Every athlete competing in the Olympic Games should be at their mental and physical peak, and at the moment, I'm a long way from where I want and need to be," Cambage said in July.
