It's no secret that Jon Gruden is on the hot seat after several seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders. General manager Mike Mayock even claimed in an earlier interview that he expected the team to make the postseason this year, giving Gruden little room for error.  

 Despite this pressure, Gruden claimed to still feel chummy with Mayock, but maybe he's just doing some butt-kissing to keep his job as head coach. He wouldn't get a head coaching job anywhere else if he lost his spot with the Raiders, so keeping Mayock happy is his only chance to stay in the NFL.

“I think we work well together,” Gruden told Bonsignore during an interview with The Las Vegas Review-Journal. “I’m not going to speak for him, and we’re not going to agree on everything all the time. But we do, professionally, agree on what decision is made. I appreciate his work ethic. I’m excited about coming in here every day and seeing him. We have a lot of fun. A lot of laughs.”
