3. Quick Decision-Making

Quick Decision-Making

Essentially, a good player must be able to decide when to stand, hit or split.

If the dealer has a six or lower and your hand sums up to 13 or greater, stand.

There are multiple circumstances when you can hit. For example, if the dealer's up card is an ace and your hand's total is 11, you can hit. If your hand is 8, 12, or 16 and the dealer's up card is an ace, 7 or1 0, you can hit.

You can never split a 5 in any game. If allowed, aim to split 8's and aces. You can split 6's or 7's anytime the dealer's up card is at a six or lesser.

It doesn't sound effortless, but it becomes more comfortable with time when you get down to playing. If your hand's total is 9, 10, or 11, you can double down.
