'COLIN CLOUD MASTERMIND' - You've Seen Nothing Like This Before

Would it be distasteful for a professional critic to open a review with "Holy shit!!!"? Well, that was my genuine reaction from COLIN CLOUD - MASTERMIND, now playing at Harrah's Las Vegas. A rapid-fire showcase for the talents of Scotsman Colin Cloud, MASTERMIND reinvigorates the genre with wit, shocks, totally convincing brain teasers, and a loch-full of charm.

Television audiences know Mr. Cloud through his appearances on America's Got Talent. Until recently, he shared the Mirage stage with Palazzo headliner Shin Lim. Cloud's crowd-engaging performance proved a sharp contrast to Lim's silence, earning the mentalist a self-titled gig at Harrah's second-level Cabaret.
While Strip casinos and Downtown stages are overflowing with magic/mentalism productions, COLIN CLOUD - MASTERMIND genuinely earns its must-see status. MASTERMIND is 90 minutes of non-stop "wow", with new and familiar feats taken to impressive heights.
You may remember my so-so review of BANACHEK - MIND GAMES. While Mr. Banachek was undeniably skilled...and his show grew on me with time...it still became a repetitive series of "Yes, that was the number in my head" from attendees. You'll witness no such monotony at MASTERMIND. Each segment is dynamic, humorous, and unexpectedly creative.

Shows of this nature require extreme audience interaction. Colin deserves credit for skillfully working through hair-brained responses. Volunteers offering "California" as their favorite city or saying "no" when instructed to always answer "yes"...that's the result of our American education system. Bless you, Mr. Cloud, for your patience.
MASTERMIND prohibits photos and videos during the show, but be grateful for that. You won't want to know anything in advance. Just be aware that the show, while family-friendly, has a few wink-wink adult references.
