Even More HOLIDAY ONE NIGHT STANDS
The fourth (and final?) edition of Christmas shows and events is here. Haul out the holly!
The year 2024 may go down as the biggest ever for Las Vegas holiday productions. The Holly Jolly season has offered a sleigh full of cheer. Big, small, off-Strip. and at major casinos, it's a nonstop collection of memorable music and beautiful voices.
Here is Edition #4 of the 2024 VEGAS 411 holiday round-up. So grab your tickets, load the rugrats and grandma into the car, and sing along with any of these ONE NIGHT STANDS - Holiday Edition.
For many, Trans-Siberian Orchestra is synonymous with Christmas music. The acclaimed rock band takes over Orleans Arena on November 29th, armed with lasers, a string section, and explosive multi-media elements. "Lost Christmas Eve" is the concluding chapter in their trilogy of holiday concerts. Showtimes are 3 pm and 7:30 pm. Get tickets here.
Keith Thompson's THE COMPOSERS SHOWCASE has been around for a REALLY long time....more than seventeen years. These days it's sometimes confused with Damian Costa's similarly named THE COMPOSERS ROOM, a lounge and performance space.
Thompson's COMPOSERS SHOWCASE is a fantastic regular gathering in which popular and budding stars perform their original compositions in front of a highly energetic audience. The Christmas edition takes place on December 4th at Myron's Cabaret. Get tickets here.
Our friends at CHIC COMPASS MAGAZINE contacted me to share information on the Youth For Youth Holiday Concert. It will be held on December 14th at 3 p.m. inside Clark High Performing Arts Theater, 4291 Pennwood Ave. Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada and Forgotten Song Foundation. The annual show has raised $50k to date.
“I think it’s cool how we can use our musical abilities to give back to others to achieve their musical careers and pursue more wonderful things in that category,” co-chair Skai Jones told Chic Compass Magazine in this article by contributor Debbie Hall. Tickets start at $10 for those 18 and under, and $20 for adult general admission. Order yours here.
Lisa Gay
Beloved entertainer Lisa Gay juggles a busy schedule that includes performing, organizing showcase events, and serving as Creative Director at Modern Showrooms. Ms. Gay hosts CHRISTMAS JOY on Thursday, December 19th beginning at 8 pm. It's part of the live entertainment series at The Dispensary Lounge at 2451 E. Tropicana Avenue.
"Started and curated by Uli Geissendoerfer, this acclaimed Jazz series continues entertaining audiences at The Dispensary Lounge. It has expanded to include other genres of music, allowing us to feature some of the best entertainers from around the world live on our stage."
Lisa's guests on December 19th include Uli Geissendoerfer, Dave Hart, and Charles McNeil. Visit here for more information.
Some people seem to have it all....great looks, amazing style, and talent beyond measure. Jazz vocalist Jonathan Karrant is so nearly perfect that it's borderline annoying. Alas, if you can handle being dazzled by the above, you're probably one of the lucky ones who nabbed tickets for Karrant's annual CHRISTMAS WISH at Myron's Cabaret.
Jonathan informed me that a few additional seats for his sold-out show may come online. So, keep checking the Myron's website here. If you find a few, please give this writer a ring, as I dropped the ball this year. Jonathan Karrant's CHRISTMAS WISH performs on Tuesday, December 17th at 7 pm. Be sure to pick up a copy of Jonathan's album CHRISTMAS WISH in the lobby after the show.
A holiday with Melody Sweets is anything but traditional...
What's a Sin City Christmas without a little sin? Vocalist and burlesque entertainer Melody Sweets closes this edition of ONE NIGHT STANDS with "UN-wrapped For The Holidays" at the Smith Center. Showtime is Wednesday, December 18th at 8 pm. Tickets start at $33.40 and can be ordered here."Get ready to jingle and mingle, because I’m hosting another sparkling Holiday show filled with glamorous burlesque, very special guests, and live music with naughty and nice Holiday classics including my favorite naughty holiday song
(I may be biased)...“Santa Maybe”..."
