Five-Star 'CLOWN BAR' Is Back!!!
Mind-blowing comedy/drama/musical returns to Majestic Repertory Theater. If you miss it this time, the joke's on you...
Imagine a reality where clowns live among us as neighbors, friends, relatives, and co-workers. That's the world depicted in 'CLOWN BAR', a brilliant comedy/drama/musical now playing at Majestic Repertory Theater. It returns after successful runs in 2017 and 2019. If you miss it this time, the joke's on you.
Although the premise of CLOWN BAR could play out as a one-note gimmick, it is fully realized in another amazing production from director Troy Heard. As with all Majestic offerings, you're deposited in an entirely believable universe. The experience is transformative.
Mr. Heard deserves praise for bringing out the absolute best in his actors. Not one moment rings false...each character is flesh-and-blood. You feel as though you know them immediately...despite their floppy shoes and painted faces.

Steffan Scrogan as "Dusty", CLOWN BAR's resident lounge lizard...
So, WTF is CLOWN BAR? It's an all-around-you mystery in which a "beige life" detective (and former clown) named "Happy Mahoney" (Adam Martinez) returns to his old hangout. He's drawn back after the murder of his brother "Timmy" (Jeffrey DuBey).
Mahoney's investigation leads to a rekindled romance, dark secrets, and a face-off with "Bobo" (Erik Amblad), the Godfather of Clowns. The story is packed with shootouts, seduction, songs, and plenty of twists.
Don't f*ck with Bobo (Erik Amblad), the Godfather of Clowns
CLOWN BAR was written by Adam Szymkowicz, who also penned CLOWN BAR 2 and a prequel...CLOWN BAR CHRISTMAS. Szymkowicz's world is lovingly rendered by the Majestic Repertory Theater team. Lighting, costumes, sets, makeup, wigs, and sound design...they are all top-level.
Happy Mahoney (Adam Martinez) drills Twinkles (Angel Mendoza) about a murder...
