'FRANKLY FRANK' Tribute Acquires a New "Sinatra"
Modern Showrooms at Alexis Park signs acclaimed Dakota Horvath as its newest headliner...
As summer winds down, the annual "Fall Show Shuffle" begins. First out of the gate is Modern Showrooms at Alexis Park. The recently-renovated two-theater venue, which already boasts nightly performances of ALL MOTOWN and Elvis tribute ALL SHOOK UP has changed its schedule heading into autumn.
Gone is CARPENTERS LEGACY, which moves to V Theater at Planet Hollywood in October. The newest production DISCO DIVAS is expanding its schedule. Showtimes are now Friday through Sunday at 9 pm and Monday and Tuesday at 7 pm.
"This high-energy production transports audiences back in time with a dynamic lineup of female-centric disco hits from legendary artists such as Tina Turner, Donna Summer, Cher, Olivia Newton-John, Gloria Gaynor, and many more," says the press announcement released on August 22nd.
"Opening October 13th for a thirteen-show run, the Modern Showrooms will welcome a new Halloween tradition with The Wisteria Theater Company’s production of the Hocus Pocus Parody - Sistas! This send-up of the classic hit movie will perform a 21+ “naughty” version at 10 pm and a family-friendly 2 pm matinee on select dates through October 2023."
Family-friendly WONDERLAND will continue to charm children and amuse adults as the most psychedelic production around. Starring Derek and Lauren White Lux, this is a show that defies expectations. It runs on weekend afternoons at 4 pm. KING OF DIAMONDS, the Neil Diamond tribute starring Rob Garrett, continues every Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.
The most "hands-y" male revue in Sin City is Aussie Heat. The long-running sizzler, which just extended its residency at the Modern Showrooms, would make cast members of Chippendales and Thunder from Down Under blush. These guys are dancers who strip, not the other way around. Full audience interaction is the show's claim to fame, and it's gender-inclusive. So bring your gal pals, gay BFF's, and everyone in between (as long as they're 21 or over, that is).

The biggest news this week is the announcement of a new "Frank Sinatra" for FRANKLY FRANK. Acclaimed performer Dakota Horvath is taking the mic from Gary Anthony, who's performed as the lead since FRANKLY FRANK opened last November.
"Dakota's expedition into the world of music is nothing short of extraordinary. His professional singing career commenced at age five, and his prodigious talent quickly gained attention. By age fifteen, Dakota had already appeared on nearly twenty-five television talk shows and had starred in two films."

"What truly sets Horvath apart is the unique distinction of receiving the blessing of the one and only Old Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra, after performing backstage at Sinatra's Miami concert. His talent as an opening act has supported artists such as Michael Bolton, Melissa Manchester, Melba Moore, Carrie Underwood, 10,000 Maniacs, Seal, and many more."
"Dakota is ready to dazzle audiences with his captivating voice, engaging presence, and deep appreciation for the timeless music of Frank Sinatra. The show will start its new era at The Modern Showrooms inside the Alexis Park Resort Hotel on September 17, 2023."
