ONE NIGHT STANDS - Rebels and Rule Breakers
These entertainers show you how to last for more than just one session.
Our ONE NIGHT STANDS series has grown immensely popular with VEGAS 411 readers. Thankfully, there are plenty of upcoming shows and events to keep the series thriving. In this edition, we expand the concept to include performances that have a handful of dates scheduled together, such as a weekend run or guest stint.
Award-winning crooner Matt Dusk returns to Myron’s at The Smith Center for three shows this month as he pays tribute to the legendary Tony Bennett. A night of classic jazz and nostalgia awaits in THE BEST IS YET TO COME. Experience unforgettable hits like “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” and “The Way You Look Tonight.”
Showtimes for singer/songwriter/renaissance man Matt Dusk in THE BEST IS YET TO COME are February 21st at 7 pm and February 22nd at 5 pm and 8 pm. Tickets start at $52 and can be ordered here.
Donny Edwards brings his Elvis Presley tribute show back to South Point Showroom for three big performances. NEXT BEST THING TO THE KING delivers the hits on March 4th, 5th, and 6th.
Edwards is represented by producer/promoter Jeanne Bavaro, who also guides the career of dazzling Travis Cloer. She told VEGAS 411 about the upcoming performances:
"We’re in our 10th consecutive year of sold-out shows with Next Best Thing to the King." Jeanne has been presenting, producing, and promoting Donny Edwards in Las Vegas throughout their relationship with Southpoint Hotel Casino.
She states that Michael Libonati, Southpoint's entertainment director, is "one of Donny’s biggest fans. Mid-week shows are at 6:30 and we plan to be sold out for this run too." Tickets start at $40 and can be ordered here.
Another South Point mainstay is FOUREVER FAB with SIXTIESMANIA. A Beatles-centric tribute to the era that introduced music spanning from "The Rolling Stones" to "The Hollies", FOUREVER FAB/SIXTIESMANIA is a Vegas-based band that never fails to pack them in.

Creator/frontman Andrew Hill tells me to expect plenty of surprises and "lots of new stuff" when FOUREVER FAB with SIXTIESMANIA takes the South Point Showroom stage this weekend. A run of four nights begins February 21st. Tickets start at $30. Click here for showtimes and reservations.
Here's an exciting event you won't want to miss. MENOPAUSE: The Musical is presenting a special two-night version of the show. It's being called "a groundbreaking and wonderful opportunity for the deaf community."
MENOPAUSE holds bragging rights for being the longest-running musical on the Las Vegas Strip. Produced by Kathi and Alan Glist, the satirical comedy follows a cast of very different female characters with one big thing in common...the change of life.
On March 7th and 8th, the show will welcome guest Liz Tannebaum. The actress, who is deaf, might be most widely known to maintream audiences for her work in WHAT WOMEN WANT with Mel Gibson.
American sign language interpreters and on-screen captions will assist in bringing audience members together for this unique experience. A donation will be made to the deaf community from each ticket sold for the two-night event.
“We’re honored to be connecting a hearing, deaf, and hard of hearing audience through entertainment in this groundbreaking, meaningful, and first-of-its-kind event on the Las Vegas Strip!” —Producers Kathi and Alan Glist
The Liz Tannebaum Foundation was inspired by Ms. Tannebaum's father, producer Ted Tannebaum. Its goal is to assist deaf, deaf/blind, and hard-of-hearing individuals to thrive in the acting field. Show time for Menopause is 8 pm. Tickets for Friday, March 7th can be ordered here. Order seats for the Saturday evening show by heading here.
Singer Dave Damiani (center) stands out in a sea of stars...
Singer/host Dennis Bono celebrated twenty-five years of The Dennis Bono Show with a star-studded event earlier this month. The stage was filled with guests, including a relatively new face that had this writer on his feet. Singer Dave Damiani (above) thrilled the capacity audience with his rendition of "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You". The Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter/producer is touring the country with the No Vacancy Orchestra to promote their latest album, "Heart To Heart". It's a distinctive big-band take on eighties pop hits from Paul Simon, Hall and Oates, Don Henley, and many more. The vinyl edition has been getting a workout on my system. Check out the promo video here. The show is complimentary with dinner. Make reservations by clicking here. While Dave's guests have yet to be announced, we hear on good authority that legendary Marlene Ricci has been invited to perform.
Speaking of Ms. Ricci, the beloved singer will be headlining her own show on March 15th at Spirits Supper Club.
Presented by The Stirling Club, SINATRA HER WAY 2.0 takes audiences on a second journey through the Frank Sinatra songbook as only his protege Marlene Ricci can perform it.
Ricci will be joined by bassist Jeff Davis, percussionist Pepe Jimenez, and musical director Bill Zappia for an evening of music and memories from her days with the Chairman of the Board.
Performance time is Saturday, March 15th at 7 pm. Tickets are $50 and can be reserved by clicking here. Dinner will be available at Spirits Supper Club during the show. It's located within The Stirling Club at 2827 Paradise Road.
To learn more about the wonderful Marlene Ricci, head to Chic Compass Magazine for this feature I penned. It's called A MUSICAL FAIRY TALE...WITH DETOURS, and you can read it here.
