PhotoDump RoundUp Week Ending 7/5/25
What has the Vegas Unfiltered lens captured this week? Come along to find out...
As much as we enjoy our week-long summaries, sometimes individual features take priority. And so it is that this PhotoDump RoundUp appears a little later than usual. Still, it's packed with experiences you won't want to miss.
We started the final week of June by going against the tide...donating blood instead of diluting it with an expertly-crafted cocktail. The VITALANT organization makes it easy for you to help your fellow man.
A big "thank-you" to Dylan for a comfortable, gratifying donation experience...
Comfortable, air-conditioned mobile facilities and permanent locations blanket the Las Vegas Valley with donation opportunities. Not only will you feel great about your gift, but you'll receive plenty in return. The need for whole blood, platelets, and "power red" collections is so dire that VITALANT offers ever-changing incentives. They include concert tickets, gift cards, shirts, an opportunity to win a brand new car, and more.
Visit the VITALANT website for answers to all of your questions...and to register for a donation appointment. You may save a life with a simple gesture of humanity. And all it takes is one hour.
PRIDE BANGER at Miss Behave's MAVERICKS
Miss Behave's MAVERICKS is one of our favorite Las Vegas productions. The show just entered a period of hiatus at Downtown's Plaza Hotel (we told you all about it here). Before that, the host and company threw a party to close out Pride Month.

Packed with bawdy burlesque, terrific vocal performances, physical comedy, and the charms of "Miss Behave" (Amy Saunders), MAVERICKS is the rare beast that dares to defy unfavorable Vegas trends. We're waiting with bated breath for the announcement of a return date. Sin City is better because of you, Amy.

Strolling Down Fremont Street
One good party deserves another, and it's always a fiesta at the Fremont Street Experience. After the Pride Banger at Plaza Hotel, we took a stroll down Fremont Street to enjoy the sights, sounds, and....ummm...smells.

BOTTLED BLONDE Opens at Horseshoe Casino
The latest "future hotspot" on the Las Vegas Strip is called BOTTLED BLONDE. Located in the hideous mess known as Horseshoe Casino's Grand Bazaar Shops, Bottled Blonde left this writer feeling cold, despite the scorching temperatures inside and out.
Bottled Blonde is easy to get to. Take the stairs alongside that perpetually broken escalator, step over the homeless, walk through a cloud of marijuana smoke, pass Ole Red, and you're there.
Grand Bazaar Shops is a flea market-style eyesore
What you'll find inside is the same overpriced food and drinks offered by Beer Park, Hard Rock Cafe, Tilted Kilt, Jason Aldean's, Losers, and dozens of others. Only the angle of the exterior view is different.
Everything about BOTTLE BLONDE is generic, from the menu, music, and $17 draft beers to cocktail waitresses who appear to be clones. This is one new establishment you won't find on our "Must-Do" list. Skip it.

Independence Day from a Local's Perspective

As gorgeous as Vegas fireworks displays are, locals rarely venture to the Strip for the experience. So I'm sharing a rare view from my rooftop deck in Mountain's Edge, a residential community in the southwestern Valley.
