PhotoDump RoundUp Week Ending 8/16/25

Burlesque, Brotherly Love, and a shark named "Bruce". Just another week in Las Vegas...and the latest edition of PhotoDump RoundUp...

Last week, VEGAS 411 had a blast attending several very different experiences. They highlight and exemplify the never-ending ways you can enjoy your time in Sin City. We started with a sneak peek at Universal Horror Unleashed, which opened to the public on August 14th. Now let's take a look at other noteworthy events.

'A NIGHT OF...' Burlesque at Vegas Theater Company

Mollie De Menthe presents a monthly showcase for burlesque performers in "A Night Of..." at Vegas Theater Company. A few weeks ago, VEGAS 411 brought you the skinny in this feature, and we were finally able to attend last week. Tasteful, elegant, and just a touch of "naughty", A Night Of performed to an enthusiastic capacity crowd.

A NIGHT OF…Burlesque and Variety performs on the second Thursday of every month at 8 pm. Tickets start at only $28.11 inclusive and can be ordered here. VEGAS THEATRE COMPANY is located at 1025 S. First Street. Ample free parking is available in the area.

THE COMPOSERS SHOWCASE at Myron's, Smith Center

Keith Thompson

A different kind of monthly program is Keith Thompson's The Composers Showcase. This one is dedicated to original compositions, with the writer(s) present to perform or oversee them. All genres are welcome, from rap and country to comedic entries and musical theater.

Dennis Blair

Ian Ward

Darren "Daz" Weller was present to share news about Third Street, an incoming cultural hub. It will occupy the space currently operating as Downtown Cinemas, a location we frequently attend for David Rosen's Piecing It Together Podcast. Richard Oberacker, writer of BRUCE, introduced Ruby Lewis and Nicholas Katopodis, who performed a selection from the show. The Downtown Cinemas event served as a fundraiser for Third Street's buildout.

The final performance of the evening went to Elisa Fiorillo (above). The gifted vocalist will present THE CLASSICS WITH CLASS at Myron's on August 20th at 7 pm. Accompanying her will be maestro Philip Fortenberry on piano. Tickets for the show start at $28.80 and can be purchased here. Beginning September 10th, The Composers Showcase moves to a new 7 pm showtime. Tickets start at $28.80 and can be reserved through this link. Proceeds benefit the TCS Entertainment Community Relief Fund, which provides financial assistance to those in the local performing arts community struggling through economic challenges.

THE BROTHERLY LOVE POD Live at STRAT Showroom

Weeks of hype later, the Lawrence Brothers (Joey, Andrew, and Matthew) descended on the STRAT Showroom with a live version of their popular podcast. The Brotherly Love Pod takes its name from the trio's 90s sitcom and is just as unpredictably wacky.

Matthew, Joey, and Andrew Lawrence (L to R)

The renowned female impersonator broke the news that he'd be winding down his long-running show at Virgin Hotel next month. Get your seats for the final performances here. Next up was Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas from the hitmaking group TLC. Chilli shared plenty of behind-the-scenes stories, reflections on deceased member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and information on her ongoing TLC reunion tour. The brothers took questions from the audience and introduced their mom, then closed out with Joey's hit "Nothing My Love Can't Fix." At 49 years old, the singer/dancer remains in top shape both vocally and physically. Afterward, VIP attendees enjoyed one-on-one time and photos with the stars. The Lawrence brothers promised to return to Las Vegas at a future date. We'll let you know if and when that happens. In the meantime, catch up with the Lawrence boys in our VEGAS 411 feature right here.
