Golden Rainbow's 35th Annual Fundraiser is the final edition to take place at Tropicana Hotel

The biggest fundraiser show of this or any year is finally upon us. RIBBON OF LIFE HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR will be held this Sunday, December 3rd at 1 pm. The massive annual production gathers entertainers from countless shows across Las Vegas to celebrate the joys of life. The event raises funds that make a better life possible for those living with HIV/AIDS. Pre-pandemic, Golden Rainbow's RIBBON OF LIFE was traditionally held in the summertime, and the annual show was built around a particular theme. This year marks the second as a holiday tie-in, making the spirit of giving that much more festive. The city's best dancers, singers, acrobats, illusionists, comedians, drag performers, and hot bodies have regularly come together to strut their stuff and share remarkable talents. As far back as this writer can remember, Tropicana Hotel Casino's glorious showroom has hosted Ribbon of Life. Now that the historic resort is slated for demolition, RIBBON OF LIFE will seek a new home. That makes Sunday's event a little bittersweet, and even more of a reason to attend. The mission of the GOLDEN RAINBOW foundation is much like that of AFAN, which hosts our annual Black and White Party. Here is their official description:

Golden Rainbow, a non-profit organization providing housing and financial assistance to those living with HIV in Southern Nevada. With your help, we can raise critical funds for individuals and children in need, such as transitional housing, education, and emergency financial assistance. So let's spread the joy and give back!

As in previous years, the program will be hosted by media personality Sean McAllister and Edie Entertainer (Zumanity, FAAABULOUS! The Show). The line-up of entertainers was not made available at press time, but previous editions have offered performances by Anne Martinez, Travis Cloer, Brandon Nix, Justin Michael Rodriguez, Chippendales, the cast of FAAABULOUS, Murray Sawchuck, The Bronx Wanderers, Michael Shapiro, Zowie Bowie, and many more. Showtime is 1 pm, with a red carpet event at 11 am. There will be a silent auction leading up to the performance, so arrive early and feel free to dress in your favorite holiday attire. A follow-up celebration will take place in early 2024.
