'SCREAM'D' Brings Terror and Laughs to Majestic Repertory Theater
Wes Craven horror franchise gets skewered in the latest Arts District thrill ride...
UPDATE 11/5/23 - SCREAM’D will return to Majestic Rep for an open-ended run beginning January 2024. Tickets go on sale November 19.
September 1st, 2023, will go down as the day the Las Vegas skies opened up. At the height of monsoon season, Sin City experienced wild flooding that canceled numerous events. They included the opening of LGBTQ bar/hotel 'QUEEN' and the monthly First Friday street fest in the Arts District. It's also the evening that a new production premiered at Majestic Repertory Theater.
SCREAM’D: An Unauthorized Musical Parody is the official name of Majestic's horror movie spoof. The musical comedy slashes away at Wes Craven's movie franchise with a 90s soundtrack played by a live rock band. It's the latest in a series of triumphs from director Troy Heard that includes The Craft: An Unauthorized Musical Parody, the haunting drama Angry Fags, and immersive period piece The Wild Party. It is co-written by Heard and Brandon Scott Grayson (The Cat's Meow, The Sandman).

Running now through November 1st, SCREAM'D is part concert, part parody, and guaranteed to shove a knife through your funny bone. Our VEGAS 411 correspondent Andrea Dupper attended a preview performance and came back with this report:"You have to get down to Majestic Repertory Theatre and see SCREAM'D: An Unauthorized Musical Parody! Just the right amount of raunch, humor, and horror! Seriously, we had the best time last night. The cast is amazing, the music is nostalgic and it's just a whole bunch of fun!"

"Majestic Repertory Theatre kicks off its Eighth Season of original live theatre in the Las Vegas Arts District with Scream’d: An Unauthorized Musical Parody, a satirical stab at Scream. The 1996 meta-horror flick spawned a franchise spanning nearly three decades. Majestic is teaming up with Nightmare Toys to produce this Vegas premiere." "Following the original plot about small-town teens threatened by a movie-savvy masked killer and the young heroine who saves the day, Scream’d: An Unauthorized Musical Parody turns the dial back with a playlist featuring No Doubt, Britney Spears, N’Sync, and more."
SCREAM'D: An Unauthorized Musical Parody performs Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm. There is a fifteen-minute intermission. Tickets start at $40 ($20 for students) and can be ordered here.
Majestic Repertory Theater is located at 1217 S, Main Street, just off Charleston Avenue in the Arts District.
