THE GOLDEN TIKI - New Food, Happy Hour, and Events

Everyone's favorite kitsch-heavy lounge expands its menu and Happy Hour. Ahoy!

It's time to escape the pretensions of ultra-lounges and let your "freak flag" fly. Slip on your favorite Hawaiian shirt and boat shoes then head to Chinatown for a great evening at The Golden Tiki. Sin City's campiest playground is Disney World for grown-ups, where each bite and every sip is a barrel of laughs. This writer discovered The Golden Tiki more than a decade ago. Since then I've hosted/attended parties and been inducted into its Cabinet of Curiosities (a celebrity shrunken-head shrine). The management even placed a memorial to my beloved cat "Sunny", who valiantly fought cancer in 2018. Yes, it's that kind of place. Known around the world, yet maintains the spirit of a neighborhood hangout.

Sunny the Cat is just one of the many "celebrities" that adorn The Golden Tiki's walls

The Golden Tiki is open 24/7 in Las Vegas Chinatown, a stone's throw from the Strip along Spring Mountain Road. Packed with free live entertainment, wacky decor, and personality-plus bartenders, the Tiki is anti-Vegas in the best of ways, yet totally Sin City kitsch. Now there are several reasons to return...or visit for the very first time.

Special Events -

No tiki bar is authentic without actual carved tiki mugs. Vegas-based artist Billy Crud will be unveiling his latest designs for The Golden Tiki at a signing event on February 24th. From noon until 3 pm, meet Mr. Crud and have him autograph yours, available to purchase on-site that afternoon. The Akua Pono mugs, made through Tiki Farm, are 7.5 inches tall, hold 18 0z of your favorite libation, and cost $65.00. For those who can't make it, they'll be available to order online the very next morning. Just two days before that, another event will pay tribute to the granddaddy of all tiki bars. Earnest Gantt, creator of the famed "Don the Beachcomber", would have turned 117 on February 22nd. He is credited with many tropical cocktails including Navy Grog, Tahitian Rum Punch, the Zombie, and his unique take on the Mai Tai.
