- Joey Chrafi, writer/director/producer of VEGAS TRAFFIC

ORIGINAL ARTICLE BEGINS HERE:
Las Vegas has major traffic problems. Not just the kind that involves closed lanes and orange barrels. Deep in the darkest corners of our city, people are taken, sold, and forced into horrifying situations. Human trafficking is a global crisis, but especially in metros like Las Vegas, where children and the vulnerable are easier prey. This writer's awareness of Las Vegas trafficking was heightened during a recent Uber ride. My driver was involved in efforts to prevent abductions and rescue victims. He's trained to recognize telltale signs when passengers are transported against their will. I vowed to cover the subject, and thanks to a message from actor/writer/producer Trenton Brisco, the opportunity has come. Brisco informed me that the big-screen version of VEGAS TRAFFIC will have its second Sin City showing on December 30th. A premiere gathering at downtown's The Beverly Theater took place in November, and the film is ramping up for national exposure in 2025.

VEGAS TRAFFIC shares its title with a tie-in novel, both authored by Joseph Charafi (order on Amazon here). Charafi also directed, produced, and appears in the film. VEGAS TRAFFIC is a passion project for Trenton Brisco, who drew inspiration from THE SOUND OF FREEDOM. Moved by the impact of 2023's breakout indie hit, he spoke with Charafi about telling a similarly themed Vegas-centric story. They assembled a cast and crew driven by the same desire to effect change and eradicate crime.

Kevin L. Sanders appears opposite Molinaro as his partner. In a departure from his usual comedic style, popular Vegas entertainer John Di Domenico (You Got Trumped, Meet The Spartans) steps into the role of "Sgt. Barnes". Gifted young actress Chloe Sligar portrays "Maria", the victim of an abduction.

"In an extraordinary show of support, over 200 Las Vegas film enthusiasts donated their time and skills to this project, united by a shared desire. Their collective efforts have resulted in a masterpiece which sheds light on the dark realities of child trafficking."

Local entertainment fans may know Trenton Brisco as the manager of THE SPACE, a community-driven performance venue. A passionate activist, Brisco is a Foster Parent Recruiter for the National Youth Advocate Program. The dedicated father is also the Founder and Executive Director of Briscotown, a non-profit organization dedicated to teen activities.

Briscotown is one of several organizations attached to VEGAS TRAFFIC, which includes sponsors and partners like Chateau De Christo, Las Vegas Protective Services, Behind the Scenes Las Vegas (BTSLV.vegas), and AGAPE Rescues Children. Collaborating with these groups ensures that both the book and film versions of VEGAS TRAFFIC can increase awareness while offering real-world solutions.
'We’re planning to bring the film to cities across the country for special screenings, partnering with local sponsors and human trafficking charities in each city. These events will include a panel discussion afterward featuring a representative from the local nonprofit and a local detective to share valuable insights on combatting human trafficking in their community.'
"Our goal is to spread awareness, ignite conversations, and raise donations for these incredible local charities working on the frontlines of this issue. Thank you for your support—let’s shine a light on this issue and create real change!" - Trenton Brisco
