There are those among us who simply must not sleep. How could they, when they're able to create, direct, perform, network, and still live normal daily lives? Lea Hinz is one such individual. A prolific choreographer, director, and performer, Ms. Hinz is a soft-spoken dynamo. Next month she's presenting yet another showcase for talented individuals. This one is called DOLLS: Invitation to the Blues.

DOLLS: Invitation to the Blues

You may remember Lea from our VEGAS 411 coverage of CLOUD 7, CIRCUS COUTURE, and Particle Ink. Everything Ms. Hinz touches is enveloped in magic and wonder. DOLLS: Invitation to the Blues should be no different. It's described as a surreal fusion of dance, illusion, and visual effects inside a life-sized dollhouse.

Enter our life-sized dollhouse — if you dare. Where anything is possible, and nothing is quite as it seems. Featuring exclusive choreography, innovative movement arts, and stunning visual effects, this show is an exploration into the future of live performance.

Hinz tells VEGAS 411 that Franklin Mendoza, whom we previously featured here, will perform in DOLLHOUSE. Mr. Mendoza is a brilliant aerialist who specializes in "hair hanging", a grueling art form which is exactly what it sounds like. Attendees to DOLLS: Invitation to the Blues can expect to witness feats just as imaginative and beautiful.

DOLLS: Invitation to the Blues is presented in collaboration with Benedikt Bence & Nevada Rhythmic Academy. The show will perform at 7:30 pm on August 4, 5, and 6 at Nevada Rhythmic Academy, 7200 West Post Road #145 in Las Vegas. Tickets start at $33.85 and can be ordered here. Parking is free.

Please note: The experience includes darkness, strobe and flashing lights, smoke effects, and periods of walking. Dress for comfort, curiosity, and ease of movement. Please refrain from bringing large bags. Run time is approximately 75 minutes, with a post-show mix and mingle. DOLLS is recommended for those 8 years of age or older.
