Heartthrob funnyman Josh Wolf is Sin City's latest celebrity transplant. May the laughter commence.
Attending comedy clubs can be a lot like playing Pai Gow in the casino. You might walk away feeling like a winner, or hunched over wishing you'd chosen a different pastime. That's where Jimmy Kimmel's COMEDY CLUB comes in. It's also where new Vegas resident Josh Wolf deals a winning hand.
Jimmy Kimmel's COMEDY CLUB has way more hits than strike-outs, thanks to its owner's criteria for selecting entertainers. Operator Damian Costa adds to the success rate by putting his own stamp on the Club. "Whenever they say 'You can't do that in a comedy club', it makes me want to do it," Costa told VEGAS 411 during a recent visit.
Those bold moves have included the occasional intermission, concept performances (a quirky book reading by Patrick Warburton, anyone?), family-friendly afternoon shows, and L8NITE, a weekend series. The impressive list of recurring and regularly-scheduled comics has grown to include Tim Meadows, Vicki Barbolak, Jill Kimmel, Adam Carolla, Luenell, Teen Wolf's Orny Adams, and resident magician Farrell Dillon.
John Caparulo (above) relocated to Las Vegas a few years back for an ongoing residency at Harrah's Las Vegas. Now a J.K.C.C. regular with performances every Tuesday night, Caparulo was followed by several high-profile transplants including hunky actors Dean Cain (Clark and Lois - The New Adventures of Superman) and Mark Wahlberg. Now we can add muscular comedian/musician/author/actor Josh Wolf to the list of beefcake residents.
You might call Josh Wolf a bit of an over-achiever. Not just a stand-up comedian, he's graced the NY Bestseller charts and is a regular talk show guest, podcast host, sitcom writer, actor, and musician. Many of those talents came into play at Kimmel's Club for the recent "Josh Wolf's Fantastical Jamboree!"
Once a dedicated single dad, Wolf documented his experiences in "It Takes Balls: Dating Single Moms and Other Confessions from an Unprepared Single Dad". A similarly-themed sitcom for FOX never materialized, but the now-married comic is touring with his son Jacob in a live act called "Bring Your Kid To Work".
